8 milion people inhabit the Dominican Republic. Its teritory is divided into 29 provinces and a National District. The Island of Hispaniola, which until very recently has been "The best kept secret in the Caribbean", is one of the few underdeveloped islands in the Caribbean. Rarely can one have the opportunity to develop 424 hectares of prime land on a secluded bay, having the potential to create an exclusive, top quality, international resort. |

Agroindustria Carlyle Sees SA, a Dominican corporation, owns the property. It has been an operating coconut and cattle plantation for the past 57 years, and family owned. Carlyle and Aurora Sees arrived in the Dominican Republic in 1940. They purchased the property in 1948 and planted the first 10,000 coconut trees. The plantation was known as “Coco Loco”. Today, there are more than 50,000 coconut trees that are harvested three times annually. In 1955, cattle were introduced to the Savanna area. It remains a working cattle ranch at this time. |
